Realizing hollow structure prototypes with a 3D printer By using a 3D printer, it is possible to achieve an overwhelming reduction in time compared to complex shapes produced by machining, and it allows for the creation of intricate shapes such as undercuts and hollow forms that are impossible with machining. Among these, the stereolithography machine (3D printer) we own can create highly detailed and smooth surface models. Additionally, it is possible to use the items produced by stereolithography as master models to create vacuum-cast rubber molds (silicone molds) for replication. In vacuum casting, a vacuum state is created within a vacuum chamber, allowing resin to flow into the mold, ensuring that the resin reaches every corner of the mold and minimizing the formation of air bubbles. This method enables the production of high-precision resin products in a very short lead time and at a low cost.
