It is a system that conducts inspections using machine vision with cameras and software, replacing the visual inspections previously done by human eyes. In traditional visual inspections, the quality can vary significantly due to the "experience" and "physical condition" of the inspectors, leading to human risks such as inconsistencies in quality and overlooking defective products. Therefore, an appearance inspection system using machines like cameras and image processing was developed. By automating appearance inspections with image processing technology, it has achieved stable inspection accuracy and improved cost performance. Furthermore, in recent years, the remarkable advancement of AI technology (deep learning) has led to image recognition becoming an advanced technology utilized even in security. When inspectors encounter unknown defects during appearance inspections, they can discover them by sensing some form of "discomfort." AI can quantify and express that "discomfort," allowing it to detect unknown defects without missing them. In other words, it can complement human judgment based on visual inspection.
