FMC casting creates foam models that are the same shape as the products using expanded polystyrene, and then produces the products by embedding these foam models in sand molds and replacing them with molten metal. This process makes it difficult for burrs to form and allows for the creation of complex and high-precision products. For small lots, cost reduction is possible compared to the wooden pattern method. Cost reduction is also possible with original (steel substitute) materials.
