Yokoyama's Therapy Desk: Realizing Differentiation in Therapy Services
The e-series products are furniture designed for children with developmental disabilities.
The 'Therapeutic Desk' realizes differentiation in therapeutic services! It can create a 'concentration space' even without private rooms! Just sitting can create a 'concentration posture'!
The "Therapeutic Desk" achieves differentiation in therapeutic services. ■ It can create a "concentration space" even without private rooms. 【Since a concentration space can be created anywhere, individual therapy can be conducted without increasing the number of instructors.】 The "Therapeutic Desk" features a large partition that limits the field of vision. Combined with a simple design that has no unnecessary decorations, it prevents distractions from entering the line of sight. This sense of being enclosed enhances children's concentration and creates an environment conducive to calm learning. ■ It can create a "concentration posture" just by sitting. 【Because children can sit calmly in the chair, even those with hyperactivity can participate in group therapy.】 The "Therapeutic Chair" has side guards that support the knees and a wide step that allows feet to be properly placed. The chair slides into a recess on the desk side and is fixed in place, supporting the body in a way that envelops it. This helps children maintain the correct posture for extended periods.

Applications/Examples of results
Yokoyama's "Therapeutic Desk" is a set of desk and chair designed for use in facilities such as child development support and after-school day services. It was created based on feedback from educators at therapeutic facilities and families with children who have developmental disorders such as ADHD, autism, and Down syndrome. 【Therapeutic Facility C】3-year-old boy with hyperactivity He has become willing to sit. He used to run away when he wasn't interested, but with the therapeutic desk, he has learned to sit. Perhaps due to the sense of security from having his own space, he has become happy to sit. 【Therapeutic Facility D】Autistic child with difficulty sitting He was able to sit in a regular chair after about a year. Children who have difficulty sitting can use this therapeutic desk, and after about a year of therapy, they can also sit in regular chairs for therapy. 【Therapeutic Facility E】Autistic child who cannot concentrate He has become able to concentrate for 30 to 40 minutes. The presence of a partition prevents him from seeing the surroundings, such as the scenery and wall posters, allowing him to concentrate on therapy for 30 to 40 minutes.
