A representative example of "polymer adhesion," which ensures strength, durability, and transparency, is the acrylic tanks found mainly in aquariums. Our company has a track record of polymer bonding ten acrylic sheets, each 50mm thick, to ultimately create a large tank with a thickness of 550mm and dimensions of 15,000mm in width and 8,000mm in height. Due to the size of the product, there are no machines capable of handling it, so parts made in the factory are bonded on-site, and the bonded panels are polished, with about 90% of the processing done by hand. For example, the polishing process involves not just a part but the entire panel to ensure uniformity in distortion. However, due to the characteristics of acrylic, over-polishing can change the refractive index, making it difficult to see inside the tank. This aspect particularly tests the skill level of the workers.
