Gypsum casting is a casting method using gypsum molds. It allows for a beautiful casting surface and dimensional accuracy comparable to die-cast products. It has good transferability and can reproduce uneven characters (such as part numbers and company logos) with a φ0.3 tool. It is ideal for producing prototypes, single items, and small lots with a wide variety of products. Since no molds are required, it can be provided with short lead times and low costs. It is particularly suitable for complex shapes, thin-walled, and hollow shapes that are difficult to manufacture through machining. The completed castings are dimensionally measured using a three-dimensional measuring machine to ensure quality assurance. It can accommodate zero draft angles and undercuts, which are features of gypsum casting.

Due to the method of creating molds with gypsum for casting, the initial cost is several hundred thousand yen.
