The probe with two styluses performs sequential scanning on the work surface. Notably, the actual shape of each of the two styluses is automatically mapped in multiple directions to optimize the probing system. High-resolution measurements are taken at a rate of 12,000 times per second during scanning and are stored in computer memory. After scanning the initial contour, the measurement force reverses, and the probe scans the opposite side of the gauge. Each measurement point has a resolution of 0.01μm in both axes.
