We will introduce a case study on the development of a microturbine range extender for EVs by Delta Motorsport (now COSWORTH).
We introduce the development case of the microturbine range extender "MiTRE," which dramatically extends the range of electric vehicles, developed by Delta Motorsport (now COSWORTH). This development project was led by the UK-based Delta Motorsport, successfully overcoming the limitations of driving range by charging the battery of the Delta E-4 Coupe EV with the power generated by a 17 kW microturbine engine.

In 2021, the UK-based company Cosworth successfully acquired Delta Motorsport. During the development phase of the microturbine engine, Accurate Technologies' VISION software and DLX data logger were used for adjusting control parameters and optimizing exhaust gas strategies during cold starts, contributing to a reduction in development time.
