We present a case of transporting a covered bucket from a low position to the machine inlet using an FCS equipped with a highly flexible carrier (running cart).
【Customer Requests/Challenges】 - While automatic transportation of powder materials mainly uses screw conveyors and vacuum (air) conveyors, we want to transport using bucket-type systems to adjust the transport volume and avoid wear and damage to the powder particles. - To prevent the raw materials from being exposed to external air, we want to equip the system with buckets that have automatically opening and closing lids. - We want to specify the weight of the powder and the transport cycle for transportation. - When switching between different raw materials, we would like it to be easy to change the buckets. 【Results After Implementing FCS】 By introducing the FCS-H300, which can equip the carrier (transport cart) with buckets that have lids, we have successfully met all the above requests. The FCS Flexible Carrier System performs linear transport, planar transport (2D transport), and three-dimensional transport in three-dimensional space using a single drive unit. It travels along a track connected by guide rails in horizontal, vertical, and curved configurations via wires, and the carrier equipped with a chuck can be fitted with mechanisms for changing the orientation of workpieces, pickup mechanisms, and more as needed. Since there is no need to change the grip on workpieces during transport, the need for numerous workpiece attachment and detachment mechanisms and transfer devices required by conventional transport systems is eliminated, resulting in significant cost reductions.
