The FCS Flexible Carrier System performs linear transport, planar transport (2D transport), and three-dimensional transport in three-dimensional space using a single drive unit. It travels along a track connected by guide rails in horizontal, vertical, and curved configurations via wires, and the carrier equipped with a chuck can be fitted with mechanisms for changing the posture of workpieces, pickup mechanisms, and more as needed. Since there is no need to change the grip on workpieces during transport, the need for numerous workpiece attachment and detachment mechanisms and transfer devices found in conventional transport systems is eliminated, resulting in significant cost reductions.
