Polycarbonate (PC) has approximately 200 times the impact resistance of glass of the same thickness and about 30 times that of acrylic. It is stronger than glass while being lightweight, allowing for both safety and weight reduction. Additionally, it has high transparency and efficiently transmits light. It also has resistance to high temperatures, generally possessing a heat resistance of around 120°C.
