basic information
**Lecture Overview** In this presentation, we will discuss the future vision for Yokohama Port, emphasizing the need to balance the enhancement of international competitiveness with coexistence and development alongside the city. Taking into account international trends, we will explain the current state of Yokohama Port in relation to its historical role and urban structure. Next, we will explore various measures to strengthen the port's international competitiveness, particularly focusing on the necessity of environmental impact reduction strategies, including the significance of providing shore power to vessels and collaborative efforts with the private sector. Furthermore, while most of the reclaimed land in the port has been newly sold and utilized, the structural transformation of industries has led to emerging diverse usage needs. In the future, it will be essential to leverage the port's water and land areas to form a new industrial base in collaboration with urban functions, such as the establishment of data centers, from the perspective of the port. We will envision the role and potential of Yokohama as a city where the port and urban areas develop together, centered on collaboration with private enterprises. **Lecture Topics** ■ Current Status of Yokohama Port ■ Environmental Impact Reduction Strategies as a Competitiveness Factor for Ports ■ Transformation and New Utilization of Port Land and Water Areas ■ Sustainable Development of Yokohama as a Port City ■ Related Q&A ■ Business Card and Information Exchange Session
