**Lecture Overview** Ammonia is gaining attention as an energy source for a decarbonized society due to its combustion producing no carbon dioxide and its excellent transport and storage characteristics for hydrogen energy. The 7th Basic Energy Plan aims to create a domestic annual demand of 30 million tons of ammonia by 2050. IHI is advancing technology development and business expansion towards building a value chain that includes the production and utilization of ammonia. For gas turbines, boilers, and internal combustion engines, we are already at the stage of social implementation. This lecture will introduce the characteristics of ammonia, the current status and future prospects of the entire value chain from production to utilization.
