The lifespan of the extrusion molding die has increased sixfold! High durability fluororesin coating.
Thermo Pro Release
Durability lifespan: 2 weeks → 3 months. Super strong adhesion even for small diameter inner diameters! Reduces frequent disassembly cleaning and parts replacement due to fluorine wear, significantly lowering running costs!
In the manufacturing process of packings and other products using a resin extrusion molding machine, fluororesin coating is essential to prevent resin adhesion to the die (mold), which is the core component, and to ensure smooth extrusion. ■ Issues with Conventional Specifications The wear load from molten resin is extremely high, and conventional fluororesin coatings have the problem of peeling off in just two weeks. This is particularly problematic in narrow inner diameters of Φ10mm or less, where blast treatment is difficult to apply uniformly, leading to early peeling. ■ Unique Technology "Thermo Pro Release" - Strong Adhesion Our original fluororesin coating "Thermo Pro Release" not only provides a physical anchor effect to the substrate but also employs a special formulation that enhances adhesion to the base material (metal). Even in narrow inner diameter surfaces where blast treatment may be insufficient, it boasts more than three times the adhesion strength of conventional fluororesin coatings. - Wear Resistance With an optimal formulation of wear-resistant binders, it is resistant to wear even in high-temperature and high-pressure sliding environments, maintaining initial release and lubrication performance for an extended period. The lifespan of the die, which was two weeks, has been extended to approximately three months, achieving about six times the duration and enabling planned line operations.

basic information
**Coating Brand Name** High Durability Fluororesin Coating "Thermo Pro Release" **Main Features** Non-stick (release properties), excellent sliding properties, ultra-strong adhesion, overwhelming wear resistance **Applicable Shapes for Processing** Small diameter and fine hole inner diameter surfaces (can accommodate diameters of 10mm or less), complex shapes of molds and jigs *Note: Depending on the length and shape of small diameter pipe structures, it may be difficult to accommodate.* **Characteristics of Film Properties** ■ Adhesion Performance More than three times that of general fluororesin coatings (strong adhesion even on low roughness metal substrates that are difficult to blast treat) ■ Wear Resistance By adopting a special binder resin with excellent wear resistance and adjusting the mixing ratio, we have achieved more than double the wear resistance lifespan compared to conventional products. ■ Maintenance of Resin Fluidity Uniform film formation allows for molding without disrupting the flow balance of multi-layer (such as two-layer structures) resins.

Applications/Examples of results
【Applications】 ■ Die, die, and nozzle components for resin extrusion molding machines (especially molds with fine holes and small diameter inner diameters) ■ Molding jigs, screws, and guides for molten resin, rubber, elastomers, etc. ■ Manufacturing equipment parts that continuously slide under high temperature and high pressure conditions, where early peeling and wear are issues 【Examples of Achievements】 ■ Applied "Thermo Pro Release" to a die for a resin extrusion molding machine that produces two-layer structure packings (inner surface of fine holes less than Φ10mm). ■ Before introduction: Due to sliding load of molten resin and insufficient pretreatment for fine holes, coatings from other companies peeled off in 2 weeks, and even our own high-durability grade lasted less than 1 month. Frequent line stoppages and costs for disassembly and recoating became a significant burden. ■ After introduction: A robust coating firmly adhered even to the depths of narrow inner cavities. The peeling lifespan dramatically extended from 2 weeks to over 3 months (approximately 6 times)! Variability in lifespan per lot was also resolved. ■ Effect: Sudden downtime drastically decreased, leading to a significant improvement in productivity due to continuous stable operation. The extension of repainting cycles successfully achieved a dramatic reduction in overall maintenance costs.

Nikken Coating Industry Co., Ltd. has been a specialized manufacturer of functional coatings for contract processing, earning the trust of customers across various industries for 79 years since its founding. We leverage our processing technology to maximize the properties of fluororesins, such as non-stick, lubricity, and chemical resistance, providing high-performance coatings that directly address customer challenges, including "Thermo Pro Release" for thermal welding processes and "NonStick STC" for blades and precision molds. In recent years, in response to movements regarding regulations on fluorinated compounds (PFAS), "PEEK resin," which is gaining attention as a substitute for fluororesins, has become a focus. Nikken Coating Industry commercialized the world's first PEEK resin coating, "PEEKCOAT," in 1999. Based on the solid knowledge and know-how accumulated over more than 20 years, we are further intensifying our research and development efforts to explore the potential of next-generation PEEK coatings! We aim to be recognized as "the go-to for PEEK coatings" and will continue to lead the way. As "the best partner for functional coatings that builds trust through technology," Nikken Coating Industry will continue to contribute to the creation of high-quality, high-performance products.
