basic information
【Lecture Overview】 The outlook for the domestic introduction of grid-scale batteries by 2030 is very optimistic, with the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy estimating a range of 14.1 to 23.8 GWh. On the other hand, as of the end of September 2025, contract applications have rapidly expanded to approximately 24 million kW, which is 3.9 times the previous year, leading to intensified discussions on regulatory limits and traffic management. In projects that have already commenced operations, discussions regarding appropriate profit levels across the wholesale, supply-demand adjustment, and capacity markets are emerging, along with challenges that arise "after construction." This lecture will provide a detailed explanation of the structure of the domestic market, types of business models, timelines and challenges in actual operations, and future perspectives drawn from precedents in Australia’s NEM and the UK’s BM, all framed around the compatibility with renewable energy based on our practical experience in both renewable energy and battery storage businesses. 【Lecture Items】 ■ Current status of the domestic battery storage market — Macro environment and structural challenges ■ Dissection of the battery storage business model ■ On-site operations — Timeline and challenges faced ■ Reading future trends — Insights from overseas leading markets ■ Compatibility with renewable energy — The inevitability of co-location and hybridization ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange session
