Verification of the positional relationship of foreign objects using image analysis in the food manufacturing industry.

We conducted an image analysis to verify the spatial relationship between foreign objects captured in product images and the product packaging of food manufacturers.

Features Verification of the relationship between foreign objects and packaging By analyzing product images and videos, we verify the position of any foreign objects captured in relation to the container or packaging film. Instead of simply enlarging the images, we can objectively confirm the position of foreign objects, which may be difficult to judge visually, by organizing how they overlap with the packaging and their spatial relationships. Comprehensive analysis of multiple image features We analyze multiple features that appear in the images, such as the contours of foreign objects, light reflections and shadows, and how they appear through the packaging film. Additionally, by checking the consistency with the shape and structure of the container or packaging film, we conduct a comprehensive assessment that does not rely solely on specific features. Provision of materials for assessing quality and safety The verified content and judgment results are organized into an analysis report. This can be used as a basis for decision-making when considering policies regarding product quality and safety, as well as serving as an objective basis for explaining the investigation results to internal and external stakeholders.
