basic information
[Lecture Overview] In this lecture, we will quantitatively analyze the global energy supply and demand outlook up to 2050, and depict specific scenarios for Japan's energy mix in 2040 and 2050, taking into account the global situation, while also considering policy implications and the impact on the market environment. The blockade of the Strait of Hormuz that occurred at the end of February this year highlighted the importance of energy security and the current situation in which Japan relies heavily on overseas energy resources. Meanwhile, there are simultaneous movements in the world towards strengthening economic security policies, technological advancements for decarbonization, and increased electricity demand due to data centers. We will interpret Japan's energy situation in this era of uncertainty from both statistical data and future projections, presenting points that can contribute to policy and business decision-making. [Lecture Items] ■ Global energy supply and demand up to 2050 ■ Japan's energy mix looking ahead to 2040 and 2050 ■ Related Q&A ■ Business card and information exchange session
