Pure sericin is a high-purity protein derived from silk cocoons. It can be used as an additive (raw material) to be mixed into existing cryopreservation solutions, rather than being a cryopreservation solution itself. In cryopreservation tests using the vitrification method for human iPS cells, it has been confirmed to significantly improve cell survival rates after thawing as a natural, low-toxicity protective material that can replace chemical cryoprotectants such as DMSO (Patent No. 6333513). Since it does not contain components derived from mammals, it is a material that easily meets safety requirements in the field of regenerative medicine. Consistent production at our domestic factory allows for stable supply with minimal lot variation.
