We observed the internal structure of LFP batteries using X-ray CT and SEM.
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP: LiFePO₄) batteries are expected to be utilized in a wide range of fields due to their characteristics of safety, long lifespan, and low cost. This document introduces a case study of a blade-type battery for vehicles that employs LFP batteries, where multi-scale observations were conducted. First, the laminated structure of the electrodes was confirmed non-destructively using X-ray CT. Subsequently, the battery was disassembled, and the cross-sectional structures of the positive and negative electrodes were observed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
