We propose carbon steel plates for boilers and pressure vessels, referred to as "SB materials." SB410, SB450, and SB480 are steel plates according to JIS G 3103. As the operating temperature increases, the allowable tensile stress decreases, and even high-strength steel grades at room temperature may show minimal differences at high temperatures. SB450M and SB480M, which have added Mo, are candidate materials that help mitigate strength reduction at high temperatures. Selection should be based on applicable regulations, design standards, operating temperature, pressure, and holding time.
