S-TEN1, which is resistant to hydrochloric acid dew point corrosion, is used in the tank body of hydrochloric acid pickling tanks in applications by Nippon Steel. Cutting, bending, and welding can be handled with the concept equivalent to SM400A, and by using dedicated welding materials, the welded areas can also achieve corrosion resistance equivalent to the base material. However, S-TEN1 is not universally applicable to all concentrations and temperatures of hydrochloric acid.
