When measuring current and simple electric power by circuit in factory distribution boards and production equipment, as the number of measurement points increases, the installation space for communication devices, wiring work, and construction time become challenges. The PAL series sensors have the function of converting measurement values into communication data built into the sensor body. This allows for the reduction of external AD converters, enabling a simple monitoring configuration centered around sensors, bus cables, and connectors. By consolidating power and communication into a single bus cable and connecting the sensors with connectors, it supports the simplification of wiring work and reduction of construction time compared to configurations where power and communication lines are wired separately. It can also be utilized for a phased introduction starting with important equipment and adding monitoring circuits as needed. 【Challenges】 Introducing sensors to many circuits complicates wiring work. Basic Information 1. Power and communication consolidated into a bus cable The power supply and communication for the sensors are consolidated into a single bus cable. This eliminates the need for separate wiring for power and communication lines, helping to reduce wiring work and construction time when installing multiple sensors. 2. Easy connection of sensors with connectors PAL series sensors can be connected to the bus cable using connectors. This makes it easy to install and remove sensors, and additional connectors can be added to the bus cable using general-purpose tools, facilitating the addition of measurement points and configuration changes. 3. Built-in conversion function in the sensor body The function to convert measurement values into communication data is built into the sensor body. This reduces the need for external AD converters, minimizing the number of components and the installation space for converters, resulting in a simpler system configuration. 4. Accommodates limited panel space Since there is no need for installation space for external converters, this configuration is easier to implement in equipment with constraints on panel space. Even when measuring multiple circuits, monitoring points can be added while keeping the increase in peripheral devices to a minimum.
