Iron deposition in boilers, where does the cause come from? [Basic Knowledge]

Does it return to normal even after cleaning? The iron trouble in the boiler is related to the water supply tank.

■Why does iron accumulate in the boiler? Raw water, such as well water or industrial water, often contains dissolved iron, with varying concentrations depending on the water source. Iron that oxidizes when exposed to air settles at the bottom of the water supply tank as reddish-brown rust, and is gradually transported to the boiler each time water is supplied, accumulating on the heat transfer surfaces and the inside of the pipes. It is not uncommon to find significant accumulation by the time one feels that "efficiency seems to have dropped." ■How do you identify the cause? If chemicals are added based on guesses, they will not be effective if the cause is different. When the inside of the boiler was visualized with a fiberscope, reddish-brown deposits were confirmed on the heat transfer surfaces and the inside of the pipes, revealing the accumulation of iron. ■Why address the water supply tank as well? Cleaning only the inside of the boiler will not prevent recurrence as long as iron continues to enter from the raw water. In this case, in addition to removing iron from the heat transfer surfaces, internal cleaning of the water supply tank was also performed to discharge the settled rust. In this instance, after the response, the boiler's startup time was shortened, and improvements in fuel efficiency were also confirmed. Please feel free to consult us first.
