Fess has the following features: - Data collection from the web and full-text search of that data - Document data collection from file servers and full-text search of that data - Data collection and full-text search from data stores (such as CSV, RDBMS, OpenSearch, etc.) Fess also includes OCR functionality, enabling the search of text images contained in PNG and PDF (image) files. This allows for the search of scanned paper documents, promoting a paperless environment while also improving operational efficiency.
