Image Engineering's test chart 'TE251' for distortion (barrel distortion) measurement in accordance with ISO17850.
The test chart "TE251" is designed for measuring image quality in digital images using digital single-lens reflex cameras, compact cameras, and mobile phones, focusing on distortion (geometric aberration) and chromatic aberration. The chart pattern of TE251 is based on the ISO 17850 standard for measuring geometric distortion (GD) in digital cameras, published in 2015, as well as standards such as IEC 62676-5 and IEEE P1858 CPIQ. TE251 is compatible with the image analysis software iQ-Analyzer-X, allowing for the analysis of TV distortion, LGD, LCA, and CA using iQ-Analyzer-X.

■Distortion (Aberration) Measurement Related Products The camera calibration device 'GEOCAL' is a compact camera calibration system that uses diffractive optical elements, eliminating the need for test charts, light sources, or stands. It can simultaneously obtain the internal parameters (ICP) of cameras requiring distortion correction in fields such as automotive and security.

At Trioptics Japan, we serve as the exclusive distributor in Japan for Image Engineering (IE), a global leader in camera image quality evaluation. We offer a range of products including light sources, charts, and software for image quality assessment, as well as evaluation solutions and measurement services. IE participates in the development of standards in international committees related to image quality, such as ISO/TC42 and IEEE-P2020 (a working group for establishing image quality standards for automotive applications), and many of IE's products and solutions comply with international standards. At our Yokohama office, we have established a lab equipped with a darkroom environment, where we permanently showcase demo equipment including various light sources, charts, and analysis software from IE. We introduce and propose products and solutions for camera image quality performance evaluation in accordance with international standards, and for customers considering purchases, we can conduct a series of demo measurements from image capture to analysis. Additionally, we provide image quality performance measurement services using IE products, conducting evaluations of image performance metrics for camera modules across various industries, including automotive cameras, digital cameras, security cameras, and medical endoscope cameras.
