Since the surface pressure concentrates on the protruding part at the time of sealing, the sealing performance is improved even for large-diameter flanges that are prone to distortion!
We would like to introduce a processing example of the "EPDM large-diameter gasket with R-shaped protrusions," which has been adopted for large connection flanges of water treatment equipment and various tanks and ducts. This special specification is based on a flat gasket with an outer diameter of φ710mm and a thickness of 5mm, with rubber protrusions (ribs) in an R5 shape (semi-circular) bonded to both sides along the central circumference of the sealing surface. By combining water jet cutting and advanced manual bonding techniques, we achieved short lead times and reduced initial costs without the need to create expensive large-diameter molding molds. [Case Overview] ■ Challenges - Gaskets with ribbed molded shapes require molds costing several million yen. ■ Key Processing Points - High sealing achieved through bonding technology between the flat plate and R protrusions. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.
