Conventional lead-acid batteries have low energy density and are very heavy, so to ensure the necessary operating time, the batteries themselves become enormous, occupying a significant portion of the vehicle's weight. By switching to lithium-ion batteries, the weight can be reduced to about one-third and the volume to about one-half for the same capacity. This creates more space inside the vehicle body, enabling a lower floor design and an increase in maximum load capacity.
