AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) that achieve guide-less transportation within factories, as well as service robots such as guide robots and delivery robots that excel in hospitals, offices, and stores. These next-generation mobile robots require advanced mobility technology to smoothly navigate while automatically avoiding people and obstacles. In particular, since they are equipped with numerous devices such as batteries, control PCs, and LiDAR (laser sensors), it is ideal for the drive components to be as space-saving as possible. Additionally, since operation in environments with people is a prerequisite, eliminating gear drive noise for quiet operation is also an important challenge. Our "HSM Series (Hub Servo Motor)" is an in-wheel motor that integrates a direct drive motor and encoder inside the wheel. It operates extremely quietly as it does not have a reduction gear, making it an ideal mobility solution for autonomous robots that achieve ultra-low floor height and compact design.
