Applications/Examples of results
- Areas in contact with chemical solutions: PP, PE, PTFE (materials resistant to acids and alkalis) - Non-lubricated sliding parts: POM (self-lubricating) - High-temperature environments: PEEK (continuous 260°C), PI Bespel (continuous 300°C) - Areas requiring transparency: PMMA (acrylic), PC - Areas subjected to impact: PC - Weight reduction: PP (specific gravity 0.91), PE (specific gravity 0.97) - Electrical insulation: PTFE, PEEK 【Selection Criteria】Transparency and weather resistance are provided by acrylic, impact resistance by PC. Heat resistance and rigidity are offered by PA66, while toughness is provided by PA6. 【Caution】PA6 and PA66 will change dimensions due to moisture absorption. PP becomes brittle at low temperatures, and PC may develop solvent cracks when exposed to alcohol, acetone, etc., while in a state of residual stress.
Detailed information
-

PP Ball (Natural) Lightweight and Chemical Resistant With a specific gravity of 0.91, it is among the lightest practical resins, extremely resistant to acids and alkalis, and absorbs almost no water. Continuous use temperature is 100°C. Available in sizes from Sφ3/32in to Sφ2in (16 sizes).
-

POM balls (natural) with sliding and dimensional stability. They have self-lubricating properties, providing good sliding even without lubrication, and maintain dimensional stability with a water absorption rate of 0.20%. Continuous use temperature is approximately 140°C. Not suitable for strong acid environments. Available sizes from Sφ1.2mm to Sφ2in (20 sizes).
-

66 Nylon balls / 6 Nylon balls (Natural) 66 Nylon is harder and has higher heat resistance than 6 Nylon, while 6 Nylon excels in toughness. Both types will change dimensions due to moisture absorption. 66 Nylon balls are available in sizes Sφ1/16in to Sφ2in (17 sizes), and 6 Nylon balls are available in sizes Sφ5/8in and Sφ1in (2 sizes).
-

Acrylic sphere (PMMA, transparent) transparent and weather-resistant. It is a transparent sphere with a visible light transmittance of over 90% and excellent weather resistance. Specific gravity 1.19. Available sizes from Sφ2.0mm to Sφ1in (14 sizes).
-

Polyethylene balls (PE, natural) lightweight and water-resistant With a specific gravity of 0.97, they are light enough to float on water, absorb very little moisture, and are resistant to acids and alkalis. The continuous use temperature is around 80°C. Available in sizes Sφ1/8in to Sφ1in (12 sizes).
-

Polycarbonate ball (PC, transparent) impact-resistant This is a transparent material with top-class impact resistance made from thermoplastic resin. Continuous use temperature is 120°C. Please be cautious of solvent cracking due to organic solvents. Available in sizes Sφ2.0mm to Sφ9/32in (5 sizes).
-

Teflon ball (PTFE, natural) chemical resistance and low friction. It is not affected by almost all chemicals, and its friction coefficient is among the lowest in resins. Continuous use temperature is approximately 260°C, with a water absorption rate of 0.01%. Available sizes from Sφ2.0mm to Sφ2in (17 sizes).
-

PEEK Ball (Natural) Heat Resistant and High Strength This super engineering plastic can withstand continuous use temperatures of 260°C and is also excellent in chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance. Density 1.31g/cm³. Available sizes from Sφ2.0mm to Sφ1in (14 sizes).
-

Bespel ball (PI・brown) super heat-resistant Bespel is a polyimide (PI) resin from DuPont, with a continuous use temperature of 300°C, making it one of the highest classes of heat resistance among resins. Available in sizes Sφ3/16in to Sφ1in (8 sizes).
