Vespel (R) is a polyimide (PI) resin from DuPont. The representative grade SP-1 can withstand continuous use temperatures of 300°C and intermittent temperatures of 480°C, offering excellent dimensional stability and electrical insulation properties at high temperatures. The ability to select different grades with varying fillers according to application is its greatest feature. KIRIURI.COM offers SP-1, SP-21, and SCP-5000 in thicknesses from T2 to T50.8 in 50 sizes, as well as SP-22, SP-211, SP-3, and conductive SP-202 in T50.8, totaling 154 sizes of sheets. [Note] If strength is required below 260°C, consider PEEK, which is advantageous in terms of cost and machinability.

Detailed information

Bespel® SP-1 (brown) unfilled basic grade. It has excellent wear resistance and electrical insulation properties, and can be used at extremely low temperatures up to 300°C (intermittently up to 480°C). This is the grade with the highest elongation rate among Bespel products. Suitable for insulating parts and general high-temperature components. Sheet thickness T2 to T50.8.
Bespel® SP-21 (black) graphite reinforced low friction grade. 15% graphite filled. It is a low wear and low friction grade suitable for bearings, thrust washers, and dynamic seals. For bearings, bushes, and sliding parts at high temperatures. Sheet T2 to T50.8.
Bespel® SP-22 (black) low thermal expansion grade. 40% filled with graphite. It has an extremely low thermal expansion rate, with a thermal expansion coefficient close to that of aluminum, making it a low wear and low friction grade. Suitable for precision parts in environments with temperature changes. Plate T50.8.
Bespel® SP-211 (Black) Low Friction Grade Filled with 15% graphite and 10% PTFE. It has an even lower friction coefficient than SP-21, providing low friction over a wide range of conditions and low wear up to 300°C. Suitable for sliding parts without lubrication. Plate T50.8.
Bespel® SP-3 (dark brown) grade for vacuum and dry environments. 15% filled with molybdenum disulfide. Suppresses gas release in vacuum and dry environments, suitable for sliding applications. For vacuum equipment, space applications, and sliding parts in dry environments. Plate T50.8.
Bespel® SP-202 (black) conductive grade This is a graphite-reinforced conductive grade. For areas where you want to dissipate static electricity and for antistatic components. Plate T50.8.
Bespel® SCP-5000 (Brown) Plasma-Resistant and Chemical-Resistant Grade Unfilled high-grade polyimide. It has high elasticity and high surface hardness, excelling in strength and rigidity at high temperatures. Superior plasma resistance and chemical resistance compared to SP-1, suitable for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Sheet T2 to T50.8.
