"ROLIS" is a device that transfers and captures images of a cylindrical surface onto a two-dimensional imaging sensor (CCD camera). The imaging mechanism is similar to rolling a cylinder on paper to transfer the surface pattern. It has many advantages compared to scanning imaging with a typical line sensor camera. The slit across the entire CCD is adjustable, allowing for real-time two-dimensional image focusing, angle adjustment, and light source adjustment by opening the slit. The Inspection Equipment Division designs and manufactures various inspection machines, including the "Cylindrical Surface Imaging Inspection Device ROLIS," which inspects processing defects such as casting defects, dents, and vibrations occurring on cam grinding surfaces and journals.
