Noni is a tropical medicinal plant native to the Maluku Islands of Indonesia. Like coffee, it belongs to the Rubiaceae family (Morinda citrifolia, also known as Yaeyama Aoki). In Indonesia, the country of Noni, each household plants one Noni tree, which is used for promoting family health and for the prevention and treatment of diseases. Due to its high functionality, it is registered as a traditional medicine, jamu, in Indonesia. In 2000, Noni juice was introduced to Japan, establishing a solid position as a health food with a high repeat purchase rate. The method of using Noni in Indonesia for 6000 years involves utilizing the fresh, yellow, ripe fruit. Organic Noni fresh juice PP grade is made from the juice of ripe fruits. It is rich in nutritional and functional components, with vitamin C content remaining at 160-180 mg/dL even after sterilization, which is 5-6 times more than that of oranges. It is certified organic by JAS, EU, and USDA, and is described as having the original fruity, bio taste of Noni, with a scent reminiscent of blue cheese. Various effects have been confirmed, including lowering high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, pain relief, antibacterial properties, anti-mutagenicity, suppression of DNA damage, antioxidant effects, prolonging stroke survival, inhibiting platelet aggregation, and improving blood fluidity. Useful components such as coumarin derivatives and iridoid derivatives have been analyzed.
