Heganes Japan will be exhibiting at the International Welding Show held from April 24 (Wednesday) to April 27 (Saturday). This International Welding Show will have the largest number of exhibitors ever for an event held in Osaka, featuring events themed around the development of next-generation talent, new exhibitions focused on metal additive manufacturing, and collaborative projects between industry, academia, and government. It will be the largest event in the domestic welding industry, combining exhibitions, demonstrations, and seminars. At our booth, we plan to introduce "high-purity metal powders for 3D printing, low-cost stainless brazing materials for high-temperature brazing, and alternative materials for chrome plating for laser cladding," among other products. The world's first metal powder manufacturer to receive certification from SBTi (Science Based Target initiative).

Heganesu Corporation has become the first company in the metal powder industry to be certified by the SBTi. Initially, the goal was to reduce Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 51% from 2018 levels by 2030, and to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions, which include raw materials and transportation, by 30%. However, the company has continued to diligently pursue its efforts, accelerating its goals and achieving SBTi certification. Specifically, the goals are as follows: 2030: Achieve net-zero emissions in its own processes* (Scope 1, 2) Reduce upstream Scope 3 emissions by 30%, focusing on raw materials** 2037: Achieve net-zero across the entire value chain (Scope 1, 2, and upstream Scope 3) *Net-zero: Any GHG emissions that cannot be reduced will be removed using carbon removal technologies. **Refers to the processes from raw material sourcing to factory acceptance based on 2018 levels. What is SBTi? A joint initiative by WWF, CDP, the World Resources Institute (WRI), and the United Nations Global Compact. It recommends, promotes, supports, and certifies companies to ensure that their greenhouse gas reduction targets are based on scientific evidence, aiming to limit the global average temperature rise to below 1.5 degrees Celsius.
