They wanted a glossy color. Among various proposals, the suggestion we made this time was to adopt aluminum vapor-deposited film. With regular films, even the same gold color tends to appear somewhat dull in the printing finish. This time, the printing was done on OPP film, but by layering aluminum vapor-deposited film over it, we achieved a glossy gold finish. The difference in color alone makes it stand out from other products, contributing to differentiation from competitors. The cost is about 30% higher than regular films, but the customer was satisfied and placed a formal order. Aluminum vapor-deposited film has high moisture resistance and light-blocking properties, which helps keep the contents in good condition, and since the products inside are not visible from the outside, it also offers high confidentiality, making it commonly used for clothing and trading card bags. Our products typically feature bags with corners on all four sides, but this time we incorporated a shoulder drop processing based on the following customer requests: 1. For a bag that holds a lunch box, we want to ensure that the corners at the top of the bag do not protrude when the product is placed inside. 2. We want to improve the visual appeal as much as possible when arranging the products. These were the two main points. Now, regarding the shoulder drop processing, when inserting thicker products, it is usually necessary to make the header part longer than the width of the product. However, this increases unnecessary portions of the bag and distorts its shape, taking up extra space during display. Therefore, we decided to implement the shoulder drop processing. We made the header part smaller than the product width from the start and cut both ends of the upper part of the header diagonally. This allows us to achieve a fit that matches the product size and eliminate unnecessary blank areas in the bag, increasing the number of different types that can be displayed in one location from three to four. In fact, bags with shoulder drop processing save about 10-20% more space compared to regular bags. However, we heard that when they had bags made previously, the seal strength was weak, and the sides of the bag's opening were very prone to tearing. The reason for this is that during the lamination process, the tension applied by the machine when bonding the films and the way the adhesive adheres can create slight differences in adhesion at different locations. This can lead to the edges opening when the film is placed on the bag-making machine, resulting in issues with proper sealing of the sides. To resolve this issue, we utilized a "reinforcement seal." When applying the reinforcement seal, we took care to ensure that: - The temperature was not too high to avoid deforming the bag. - The marks left by the reinforcement on the bag were minimized. To address these two points, we made sure to manage the temperature during the process. The problem was successfully resolved, and the customer was satisfied!
