The case study introduced this time is from Choceňská mlékárna, a company located in the town of Choceň, 100 miles east of Prague, Czech Republic, which produces brands of spreads, yogurt, and curd cheese. Since its establishment about 90 years ago, the company has been committed to high quality standards and has implemented automation in mass production and more reliable production routes. Additionally, a new line has been designed and introduced to package popular dairy products in the Czech Republic at a speed of 20,000 units per hour. The six Stäubli robots that were introduced have greatly contributed to improving production flexibility, allowing for very quick reconfiguration of the system to accommodate various products, and efficient automation enables the production capacity of the line to flexibly adapt to the constantly increasing demand. The manufacturing process is complex, involving pre-treatment, stir-frying, steaming, and cooling. The ingredients are mixed with seasonings and additives, and finally packed into plastic soft bags, resulting in 130 to 400 grams. The company produces these bags in large quantities, and the management, always seeking a higher level of automation, considered further streamlining this packaging process. Therefore, a solution using the "Stäubli TS60 four-axis scara robot" was proposed. As a result, they successfully automated the packaging process of the mass-produced hot pot soup.
