In urban areas, it is not uncommon for buildings over 100 meters in height to be constructed; however, in such cases, the impact on the wind environment (building wind) differs significantly compared to situations where relatively low-rise apartments are built in residential areas. For buildings exceeding 100 meters, the recirculation zones that appear on the approach (upwind) side and the wakes (downstream vortices) that occur behind them are naturally very large, resulting in a correspondingly significant impact on the surroundings. In the thermal fluid analysis of the continuous casting machine mold, we conducted a thermal fluid analysis related to the continuous casting equipment in steelmaking plants. We faithfully modeled the mold and immersion nozzle to reproduce the flow within the molten steel bath, which is extremely important for controlling the solidification shell thickness and reducing non-metallic inclusions, making it an essential requirement for high-speed casting equipment. In this analysis, we simulated the impact of the molten steel flowing from the immersion nozzle on the flow state within the mold, as shown in the diagram below.
