0350 Color Masterbatch Bridge Countermeasures

A case of introducing a Brody disk to a factory that manufactures resin products for medical and industrial use.

This is an introduction to a matter that was initially addressed through a phone call from a representative of a factory that manufactures resin products for medical and industrial use. It was indicated that sending material samples to our company was not possible, so we lent them the BroaDisk "BD-15S-W." They have adopted this equipment after confirming its performance. Our company regularly provides assistance with selecting the appropriate model of BroaDisk and its arrangement according to the user's situation, as well as lending products. 【Case Study】 <Problem Details and Conditions> ■ Color masterbatch pellets containing surfactants are causing bridging. ■ Raw Material Overview: Size is approximately 2mm x 2mm x 3mm, tends to clump when gripped. ■ Hopper Size: 400 x 400 (only one of the four sides has a gentle slope). ■ Hopper Discharge Section: 40φ <After Implementation> ■ Installed one standard BroaDisk on the gentle side. ■ Increased air pressure slightly to about 0.5Mpa, with intermittent operation of air ON for a short time. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous case studies, which can be accessed via the link below.

0349 Bridge measures for wheat flour + gluten flour

Measures against bridge formation in hoppers for conveying applications! Introducing a case study of the Brody Disk.

This is a hopper for suction transport, and there was suction from the bottom of the tank to a diagonal upward pipe. I would like to introduce a case where we received a consultation regarding a bridge occurring in this hopper. This user had previously adopted a "Blow Disk" for another piece of equipment and was familiar with our device, so we only proposed the model and layout for this issue. By installing a "Blow Disk Mini" near the suction port at the bottom of the tank and a "Blow Disk" in the center of the hopper, the bridge was resolved. [Overview] ■ Hopper diameter: 500 mm ■ Hopper bottom diameter: 100 mm ■ Material: Wheat flour + gluten powder * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous implementation examples. 0359 Bridge measures for film crushing products

Introducing a case where a blow disk was implemented as a countermeasure for film grinding products!

This is an inquiry we received from a repeat customer regarding bridging issues with film grinding products. Film grinding products can be troublesome, and since we were unable to see a sample this time, we suggested considering four Brodie disks (BD-15), which are somewhat over-spec for an 800mm hopper, along with a controller (with four built-in solenoid valves). Ultimately, they decided to use three Brodie disks and a controller (with one built-in solenoid valve), which seemed to carry some risk, but it worked out well. From the perspective of preventing bridging, a larger discharge diameter is always better. [Overview] - Material size: approximately 5mm square x 300μm - Hopper diameter: 800mm *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. *We have many case studies published on our website. 0375 Bridge measures for pet-grade wood powder

Introducing a case where 12 Brodisks were installed, 3 on each side.

We provided the powder bridge prevention as a pet product. There was a significant variation in properties, including the moisture content of the materials, and it was introduced after testing with the customer's actual equipment. First, we reviewed the hopper diagram and guided the arrangement of the blow disks, and immediately after that, we lent the necessary quantity of our equipment. After being tested for a certain period, the bridging issue was resolved without any problems, leading to the decision to implement the system, including the controller. 【Overview】 ■ Hopper ・1900×1900, discharge section: 250□ ■ Blow disk installation status ・3 units on each side, totaling 12 units installed ・The controller, which incorporates 6 solenoid valves, sequentially turns on air to 6 locations, dividing 2 blow disks each. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous case studies. 0386 Bridge measures for food powders

An example of installation to eliminate the bridge of a screw conveyor.

This is a project established to eliminate the bridging in the hopper of the screw conveyor (at the inlet to the screw). The materials involved are various types related to food, and it seems that the cleaning frequency is high. However, compared to the screw and other equipment, the removal and installation of the blow disk are evaluated as easy. [Overview] ■ Equipment flow: Raw material input hopper → Screw conveyor → Auger filling machine ■ Target materials: Green juice ingredients, herbal powder, and other dried food powders [Key Points of This Equipment] ■ The elastic disk (silicone) is very important in terms of strength and durability due to the risk of foreign matter contamination. The silicone disk of this equipment is exceptionally strong and durable. Once you use it, you will understand! ■ Control (how to aerate?) is crucial! We provide guidance on what should be done. A dedicated controller is also available. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. *Many implementation examples are posted on our website.

0400 Bridge measures at the extruder hopper

An example of adopting a blow disk as a countermeasure for bridging of crushed material in the hopper of an extruder.

We would like to introduce a case where a Bro-Disk Mini was delivered to a facility primarily engaged in the production of food containers and packaging sheets. The delivery was made as a countermeasure for the bridging issue caused by the crushed material "pellets + powder" in the hopper of the extruder. Initially, the customer requested a loan of the equipment for effectiveness verification, so we sent the necessary quantity. After discussing the arrangement for various hoppers, we proceeded with the testing, and the results were all favorable and well-received. In this case, due to the gentle slope of the hopper, we installed two units near the discharge area and four units above it. 【Overview】 ■ Hopper diameter: 400φ ■ Discharge diameter: 80φ ■ Number of units installed: 6 Bro-Disk Minis ■ Control: Since the air consumption per unit is low, we control all six units to turn ON and OFF simultaneously using a controller with one built-in solenoid valve. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. *Our website features numerous implementation examples, which can be accessed via the link below.

0403 Bridge measures for crushed resin tube products

Case study of adopting Brody Disk Mini for bridge measures in resin tube crushing products.

This is a case where a resin product manufacturer adopted the Brody Disk Mini. They consulted us early on because the target material was bridging inside the hopper during mass production trials, and they wanted to resolve this issue quickly. Considering the user's thoughts, we installed four Brody Disk Minis. The price difference between using two Brody Disk Minis with a controller and using four Brody Disk Minis with a controller is not significant. Given the potential for bridging with other materials that may have poor flow in the future, they decided it would be best to ensure a thorough solution from the start. Since this equipment is economical, I believe such a decision is reasonable. 【Overview】 ■ Hopper: 200mm diameter cone (discharge part is 50mm) ■ Material: Resin tube crushed product (2mm pass) … looks fluffy * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous examples of implementations. 0417 Bridge Measures for Powder Coatings

If you are having trouble with bridges or rat holes, please try this device!

As a countermeasure for bridging in powder coatings, we first received a request to lend this equipment. When lending, there was a specification that the material of the demo unit (elastic disk part) should be something other than silicone, so we prepared and lent a model made of EPDM (ethylene propylene rubber). The hopper has an overview of approximately 600mm in diameter, so we recommended installing three BroaDisk (BD-15 type) and, since the discharge section is relatively small, we suggested placing three BroaDisk Mini (BD-08 type) in that area, and testing was conducted under these conditions. The results were favorable, and it was decided to adopt this equipment and controller. 【Product Specifications】 ■ BroaDisk: BD-15S-EW 3 units ■ BroaDisk Mini: BD-08S-EW 3 units ■ Controller: C-SV1 1 unit * For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us. * Our website features numerous implementation examples. 0518 Repurposing the talc hopper, bridge countermeasures

Especially, no welding is required, and it can be easily installed! Examples of using the Brody disk.

When calcium carbonate was introduced into the hopper for talc, a bridge occurred, and to resolve this, a Brodisk was used. Since it is a square hopper of about 1000×1000, a standard Brodisk (BD-15) was installed, with one on each side for a total of four, and due to the special shape of the discharge section, two Brodisk Minis were installed here, which resolved the trouble. If you experience issues with powder discharge due to repurposing of hoppers or equipment, or changes in raw material types, please consider installing this equipment. It can be easily installed without the need for welding. 【Product Specifications】 ■ Brodisk "BD-15S-B" x 4 ■ Brodisk Mini "BD-08S-B" x 2 *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
