A film that combines oxidized tungsten nanoparticles and cellulose derivatives, which strongly colors under ultraviolet irradiation and returns to colorless transparency when darkened.
This is about a new thermosensitive material that changes color according to the external environmental temperature, and it has the following features:
(1) It has excellent film-forming properties and transparency in the dark, and demonstrates high light-blocking ability due to strong blue coloration when exposed to light, making it useful as a dimming film.
(2) It develops sufficient color when exposed to sunlight, and since the composite film takes time to completely lose its color after developing, it can be used as a photosensitive material for blueprints. The fading time can also be adjusted.
(3) Particularly when containing organic acids such as oxalic acid or glycolic acid, the time until the color completely disappears is even longer, making it suitable for use as a recording medium.
(4) Since it can be made primarily from environmentally friendly materials, disposal is easy, and it can be used in various applications including energy-saving measures through dimming.

(1) Film for smart windows (applied to windows to control indoor brightness)
(2) Rewritable paper (prints/copies with light, returns to transparency after a few hours)
