We will introduce a case study of problem-solving that developed a product that does not exist in the world using the rubber compound "Radicalock(R)" for rubber-plastic cross-linked composite materials. When it comes to using elastic materials, TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) is often chosen, but TPE has many weaknesses, such as being sensitive to heat and prone to wear. The mechanical strength of starch-based biodegradable resins, such as tensile strength and elasticity, has improved!

By compounding starch-based biodegradable resin with nanocellulose (cellulose nanofiber: CNF), the mechanical strength such as tensile strength and elastic modulus of the starch-based biodegradable resin is improved. By compounding PLA with nanocellulose (CNF: cellulose nanofiber), improvements in tensile strength, elastic modulus, and flexural strength have been confirmed.
