[Production Achievements] Large Drone

The ideal is an aircraft that can safely carry people! This is an example of my involvement in the development of a large drone approximately 4 meters in length.

We were involved in the development of a large drone approximately 4 meters in length. Our profession typically requires us to focus on "how to make it as realistic as possible," but this time, real functionality was also required. It was necessary to make it as light and strong as possible, with the weight that could be lifted by four propellers determined, and we significantly reduced the surface area by making many holes in the body. Moreover, we were asked to finish it with a thickness of 0.8 mm, which led us to use an EPS female mold for shaping with carbon fiber. The challenge of how to increase strength using the hand lay-up method was resolved by utilizing CNF. On August 5, 2019, we successfully conducted a test flight at an NEC facility in Abiko, in front of an audience of over 200 people, and we were able to devise a transportation plan for subsequent exhibitions. [Request Details] ■ Development of a large drone approximately 4 meters in length ■ Real functionality is also required ■ Ideally, the aircraft should be safe for a person to ride ■ Finish with a thickness of 0.8 mm *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Must-see! Proposal for Utilizing Drones

We will utilize drones to meet various requests!

We propose the use of drones for surveying, construction management, inspections, and more. In surveying operations, drone photography allows us to obtain millions of point cloud data in a single shot, enabling the creation of 3D models that can be handled as data in 3D CAD, allowing us to gather necessary information without visiting the site. Examples: Creation of orthophotos, measurement of distances and areas, creation of restoration drawings for existing bridges. In construction management, point cloud data possesses high precision with X, Y, and Z coordinates for all points, making it possible to obtain accurate information about the shape of structures, the volume of earthworks, and more. Examples: Measuring and confirming dimensional shapes on a 3D model, calculating earthwork volumes on-site. In inspection operations, we can confirm the current state, such as damage locations, in a shorter period than before. Regular inspections are also effective for managing changes. Examples: Checking for cracks and damage in bridges, confirming the state of sediment accumulation, checking for leaks due to cracked roof tiles. Additionally, we offer a wide range of drone photography services, including landscape photos, videos, and commemorative photos at events. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

A must-see! 【Drone Work Examples】Roof Inspection

High-altitude inspections of lighting fixtures and more are possible! The camera's zoom function allows for high-resolution imaging even when enlarged.

We would like to introduce the roof inspection conducted using a drone. The inspection target was the roof (dimensions 30.5m x 19.6m, area 842m²), and the inspection item was water leakage. As a result of the inspection, it was found that there were missing tiles, which could likely lead to water leakage. Since there was no dirt on the chipped areas, it appears that the damage has not been present for long, so it is believed that water leakage has not yet occurred. Additionally, with the drone owned by our company, it is possible to take high-resolution images even when zoomed in, as the camera can be positioned away from the structure. Please feel free to contact us if you require our services. [Work Example] ■ Inspection Target: Roof (dimensions 30.5m x 19.6m, area 842m²) ■ Inspection Item: Water Leakage ■ Inspection Result: Missing tiles were found, which could likely lead to water leakage. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

A must-see! [Drone Work Examples] Plane Surveying

Correct and analyze with high-precision position coordinates! It is easy to create necessary cross-sectional views from point cloud data.

In UAV plane surveying, the installation of control points is entirely done manually, accounting for about 35% of the total work time. Reducing this task as much as possible is key to enhancing productivity. According to an announcement from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, if a technology for accurately measuring the UAV's self-positioning (RTK, PPK) is introduced, the installation of ground control points can be optional, and only accuracy verification at verification points is required. This allows us to omit the installation of control points when capturing images with our UAVs "Phantom4 RTK" and "Matrice210 RTK," which are capable of self-positioning, thereby increasing productivity. Additionally, we use PPK (Post-Processed Kinematic method using virtual reference points) to correct and analyze to high-precision position coordinates (within ±3cm in all directions). By conducting drone surveys and generating point cloud data from continuous high-precision photographs using SfM, there is no need to measure the coordinates of control and verification points with surveying instruments. This results in a reduction of work time compared to conventional surveying, and it becomes easy to create the necessary cross-sectional views from the point cloud data. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*

A must-see! 【Drone Work Case】 Management of Construction Quality in Legal Framework

By measuring the 3D model, it is possible to confirm the shape! Conducted safely and quickly on the desktop.

In the management of formwork, it is often necessary to conduct measurement and photography work in areas that are difficult to measure, such as steep slopes, which can be dangerous and challenging. Starting from the fiscal year 2020, ICT-based construction methods have been introduced, including ICT slope work (formwork), allowing for the use of UAVs and other technologies in measurement methods in addition to traditional management. By performing special flights that differ from normal flying and creating high-precision 3D models, we can reduce measurement work on slopes. Using point clouds and other 3D models, this work can be conducted safely and quickly on a desktop. [Features] ■ Reduction of measurement work on slopes ■ Efficiency in measurement work by measuring the complex undulations of slopes as a surface ■ Safe and rapid execution on a desktop using point clouds and other 3D models ■ Verification of formwork can be achieved by measuring the 3D model *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

This advanced solution executes a series of monitoring and inspection tasks automatically, from saving and analyzing captured footage to notifications, without human intervention. It contributes to improving on-site equipment management, such as regular checks for the normal operation of equipment like data centers and plant instruments, patrol security, construction progress management, and immediate verification during anomalies. [Inspection and Monitoring Technologies] ■ Meter reading technology ■ Inventory management using IC tags (RFID) and barcodes ■ Abnormality detection such as water leaks *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
