Soil hardness meter Yamanaka type
The Yamamoto-type soil hardness meter is an instrument that measures soil hardness, which is one of the physical properties of soil.
When a cone is pressed vertically into a flat-cut cross-section, both the depth of cone penetration and the corresponding soil reaction force (spring compression) are measured simultaneously as variables, from which the theoretical hardness value (kg/cm²) is calculated. Due to this unique principle, a wide range of hardness from soft soils to soft rocks can be accurately measured in a matter of seconds. Additionally, it can be universally applied to general soft materials other than soil.
