By generating eddy currents in the heating target, the oscillated output is directly consumed as self-heating due to Joule heating on the workpiece. This allows for rapid temperature rise at a pace that is difficult to achieve with indirect heating through heat conduction from a heat source like flames. The time required to reach the target temperature is determined by the balance of the material and size of the target, the target temperature, the heating range, and the output of the induction heating power supply used.

【Abstract of the Lecture】 I will introduce the potential of soft carbon as an anode material for lithium-ion secondary batteries, discussing its characteristics based on various technical data and its positioning among other anode material trends, as well as outlining future development prospects. 【Purpose of the Lecture】 Carbon Nano Walls (CNW) are a novel nano-carbon material generated perpendicularly to a substrate by plasma CVD methods. CNW has a unique structure composed of nano-graphite domains. This lecture will explain the generation method of CNW and its structural characteristics. Recent experiments have shown that CNW is effective as an anode material for lithium-ion secondary batteries and as a platinum-supported electrode material for fuel cells. This lecture will also introduce the application of CNW in battery electrodes. 【Purpose of the Lecture】 I will present the current state of research and development of carbon materials and examples of research related to the formation of solid electrolyte interphase (SEI), particularly focusing on the development status of Si-C-O based carbon materials and analysis cases regarding the surface state of graphite anodes.
