We would like to introduce a case study on the process design for stress reduction that we conducted. When machining a deep V-groove shape into round bars, deformation due to stress occurred after rough machining using wire cutting, making the finishing process impossible. We left extra material at the tip of the V and connected it with a bridge, allowing us to perform the finishing process while suppressing deformation due to stress.
