Radiation immunity testing measures using electric field probes

[Application Example] Introduction of the EMS (Immunity) Pre-evaluation System

Instead of bringing the equipment under test (EUT) to the EMC test site and conducting immunity tests multiple times, a simplified interference wave test can be performed. By operating a dedicated program, the electric field strength of the radiated interference wave is set. Following the GUI screen instructions, the electric field probe measures the target area (up to 4 locations). To enhance test accuracy, calibration data with high degrees of freedom is automatically created by changing the position of the probe. 【Solution】 An electric field probe is installed on the EUT setup stage inside the anechoic chamber. Calibration data is automatically generated by the test software according to the size of the EUT. (1) The electric field probe is placed at any position on the stage. (2) Align with the EUT surface facing the antenna and measure the electric field strength (up to 4 locations). (3) Record calibration data for each position according to the target frequency range. (4) Incorporate the calibration data into the test software and start the EMS pre-test. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] MTS Model 858 Bionix Testing System

We are helping to provide more beneficial information before scoliosis surgery.

The Tara Technology Research Institute (ITT Dublin) is a university-level institution located in South Dublin, Ireland. The Biomechanics Technology Center (BTC) is a research center established within the Faculty of Engineering, providing intensive guidance to a small number of students aiming to obtain a graduate degree in biomedical engineering. In March 2009, BTC upgraded its mechanical testing capabilities related to the spine by purchasing the MTS Bionix testing system equipped with the MTS FlexTest control system and MTS MultiPurpose TestWare (MPT) software. The new MTS testing system allows for pre-loading of spinal test specimens to accurately determine the forces required to return the spine to its natural alignment during surgery. This process holds significant potential for understanding what is needed during spinal fixation procedures based on the curvature that varies from patient to patient. It is predicted that this new method will reduce operating room time by 25 percent, leading to a decrease in the risk of infection and a shorter recovery time. [Case Study] MTS Active Road Abatement (ALA) System

A major aircraft manufacturer has achieved the optimization of flight control for business jets.

To ensure safe and smooth flights with the Gulfstream G650 business jet, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation has implemented the "Iron Bird" testing system. This is a structural model created with strict positional relationships and accurate dimensions to replicate the actual aircraft, rigorously evaluating flight control, hydraulic, electrical systems, and landing gear under various operational conditions. To prevent damage to the Iron Bird system, Gulfstream employs the MTS Active Load Abort (ALA) system, which simultaneously removes all hydraulic energy applied to the system when error thresholds are exceeded. With MTS's solution, Gulfstream has created an Iron Bird testing environment with dynamic load-following capabilities in the lab before the first flight. MTS engineers have participated in the design development, integration, execution, and training phases of this project and continue to provide technical support. "MTS's contribution to the success of the G650 aircraft is something to be proud of," the customer stated. For more details, please contact us or refer to the catalog.

Agilent Nano Dis System (for 708-DS dissolution testing)

The Nano Dis system can accurately separate nanoparticles from the test solution, enabling consistent and reliable dissolution test results for nano formulations.

The Nano Dis system is a new option that uses conventional dissolution testing equipment. Currently, many new drug candidates are poorly soluble compounds, and improving the solubility of these compounds is important. One attractive solution for improving solubility is nanoparticle formulation. To facilitate the selection of compounds in nanoparticle development, an efficient dissolution testing method is necessary. In the current dissolution testing systems, insufficient filtration of nanoparticles from the test solution leads to variability in test results, resulting in unreliable outcomes. The Agilent NanoDis system addresses these issues and provides researchers with accurate dissolution profiles of active pharmaceutical ingredients through an automated system. This functionality allows researchers to optimize nanoparticle formulations more quickly and bring them to market faster. The automated process yields consistent and reliable dissolution test results for nanoparticle formulations.

Battery Pack Charge and Discharge Test System Model 17020

A charge and discharge testing system suitable for applications such as durability testing of battery modules/packs, incoming and outgoing inspections, and capacity learning tests on production lines.

The 17020 is a high-precision charge and discharge testing system developed for battery module/pack testing. It is suitable for applications such as battery endurance testing, product incoming and outgoing inspections, and certification tests for capacity characteristics in battery production lines. Due to its regenerative structure, the 17020 can regenerate energy released from the battery back to the system side, and it can also be directly utilized for the energy required during battery charging. The regenerative function improves energy consumption issues and significantly reduces costs associated with air conditioning measures. The 17020 adopts an independent multi-channel system, allowing for different tests to be conducted on each battery through independent operation of each channel. Additionally, the channels are equipped with parallel operation capabilities, enhancing the flexibility of testing when using the 17020 system. Test items can be set based on the capacity required for the device under test (DUT), eliminating the need to purchase separate testing systems for each product lineup, thus providing high cost performance with a single system.
