[Spraying Case] Far Infrared Effect

The effects of far infrared radiation are influenced not only by the type of ceramic but also by the thickness of the thermal spray coating and the porosity.

Thermal spraying is a surface modification technology that uses various heat sources to melt and spray materials such as metals, ceramics, and cermets onto the surface of a substrate to form functional coatings. Ceramics have a high emissivity in the far infrared range, allowing them to efficiently radiate energy, and this characteristic is utilized in thermal spray coatings. Since the emissivity varies depending on the type of ceramic, selecting the appropriate ceramic thermal spray coating is crucial. The radiant heat of far infrared is something very familiar, as it is used in many heating and cooking appliances. Thermal spray coatings are also employed in these applications. The effectiveness of far infrared radiation is influenced not only by the type of ceramic but also by the thickness and porosity of the thermal spray coating, so please consult us about the thermal spray specifications for each project. [Features] ○ Far infrared refers to light with a wavelength of approximately 25 to 100 microns, which is the longer wavelength range of infrared radiation. ○ By thermally spraying far infrared ceramics onto the surface of conventional heaters, the heater's characteristics are improved. ○ The main purpose is to increase the drying time and drying efficiency of heaters. ○ Widely adopted in oil heaters, aluminum flat heaters, hot plates, and many others. For more details, please contact us.

For information on arc spraying, visit "youshakakou.com".

A group of specialists in thermal spraying. We handle various processes from arc spraying to pre-treatment and finishing!

It is a type of electric spray coating that generates an arc discharge (electric spark) between two metal wires, using the discharge energy to melt the wires. The wires are fed in accordance with the melting rate, and compressed air is used to atomize the molten metal, which is then continuously sprayed onto the substrate to form a film. Compared to flame spraying methods, it has a higher spraying capacity (amount of coating per unit time) and excellent adhesion to the substrate due to the spraying material being sufficiently melted at high temperatures. The power supply for the arc spraying device can be alternating current, but direct current is used for stability of the arc. Since the wires act as electrodes, the spraying materials are limited to electrically conductive materials.

HVOF thermal spraying (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel spraying)

It is a super hard coating technology that possesses a dense film characteristic with strong adhesion to the substrate, resulting in extremely high wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

"HVOF thermal spraying (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel spraying)" is a super hard thermal spray coating adapted for wear and corrosion resistance. Due to the smooth surface of the coating, it is easy to achieve a super mirror finish, and a thick film formation is also realized. The extremely high particle velocity (500–800 m/s) produces a coating with very high density and low porosity. Additionally, because the material is fed at ultra-high speed, the time it is exposed to the flame is minimized, allowing for the reduction of oxidation and alteration to a minimum. 【Features】 ■ High density ■ High adhesion ■ Oxidation and alteration suppression ■ Surface smoothness *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

What is thermal spraying?

A type of surface treatment. A technique for forming a film by adhering and layering on the surface of a substrate.

Thermal spraying is a type of surface treatment alongside welding, plating, and PVD. It is a technique that uses combustion flames from combustible gases or electrical energy from arcs to melt materials, which are then blown onto the substrate surface to adhere and form a coating. Our company adopts the complete Metco thermal spraying method using thermal spraying equipment and materials from Oerlikon Metco. [Overview] ■ A technique that adheres and layers materials on the substrate surface to form a coating. *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Atmospheric plasma spraying

Due to the ability to perform thermal spraying at low temperatures around 100℃, there is no thermal impact or distortion on the base material!

"Atmospheric plasma spraying" is a spraying method that can spray all materials, including high melting point tungsten carbide and ceramics, which were difficult to spray using metallizing and thermal spray. Since the plasma flame itself is inert, it is possible to obtain pure and low-oxidation coatings even with low melting point metals like aluminum and copper. Please feel free to contact us when you need our services. 【Features】 ■ Capable of spraying high melting point materials ■ The sprayed coating is extremely dense ■ A hard and dense coating that can sufficiently resist hard plating, etc. is obtained ■ There is almost no thermal impact on the base material *For more details, please refer to the related links or feel free to contact us.

Technical Introduction: "Thermal Spraying"

It can be applied to ceramic and plastic surfaces as well!

At Daiichi Chemical Co., Ltd., we perform "thermal spraying," which involves melting metals, ceramics, and other materials using heat sources such as gas and electricity, and then spraying them onto a substrate to form a coating. In accordance with JIS and ISO standards for "corrosion protection thermal spraying," we can adjust the spraying materials based on the installation environment of the structure and the coating thickness according to the expected lifespan. Additionally, thermal spraying of stainless steel, nickel-chromium, and Hastelloy has proven to be extremely effective for the inner surfaces of chemical storage tanks. 【Features of Thermal Spraying】 ■ Wide range of materials ■ Applicable to large structures such as bridges and transmission towers, with on-site construction possible ■ Thick coatings can be relatively easily produced, and the coating process is faster compared to other surface treatment methods ■ Relatively low thermal impact on the substrate, making deformation and distortion less likely *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

For those troubled with surface treatment: Surface modification (thermal spraying, build-up welding)

Presentation of Technical Data: Delivering a Bright Future and a Clean Environment Created by Surface Modification Technology

Our thermal spraying technology has accumulated over 50 years of expertise. Thermal spraying is a process that rapidly forms diverse coatings, such as metals, ceramics, and cermets, and is applied in a wide range of fields from aircraft to general household appliances. Additionally, we are actively working on expanding related technologies, such as Inconel overlay welding, as a composite technology of welding and thermal spraying. At our Nagoya factory, we have introduced a new high-speed frame thermal spraying device, allowing us to provide thermal spray coatings using advanced equipment. **Features of Thermal Spraying** 1) A wide variety of thermal spray materials (various materials such as metals, ceramics, and cermets are available to meet customer demands). 2) High film formation speed. 3) Applicable to small parts to large structures. 4) On-site application is possible. 5) Coating can be applied to a diverse range of substrates (metals, ceramics, glass, plastics, etc.). *Note: The feasibility of application may vary depending on the combination with thermal spray materials. **Impact on Base Material** While the impact on the base material (such as thermal distortion) is minimal, some thermal spraying methods may cause distortion due to heat. Even in such cases, we minimize this through accumulated know-how and pre-tests. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.*

Those troubled by surface treatment: Wire thermal spraying

Presentation of Technical Data: Introducing wire thermal spraying that revives discarded parts as maintenance technology!

Wire thermal spraying is a process that uses a combustion flame of oxygen and a combustible gas to heat wire-shaped metal thermal spray materials, melting them or bringing them close to a molten state, and then spraying them onto a substrate to form a coating. Build-up thermal spraying is suitable for repairing worn or dimensionally deficient parts of mechanical components without compromising their functionality. Additionally, for corrosion protection thermal spraying, there are zinc and aluminum alloy thermal sprays that prevent rust from forming on the base metal, serving as anti-corrosion thermal sprays. [Spraying Materials] - Steel - Stainless Steel - Nichrome - Special Aluminum Bronze - White Metal - Molybdenum *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
