Corrosion and wear-resistant processing by HVOF thermal spraying (High Velocity Oxy-Fuel spraying)

It is suitable for thermal spraying of cermets such as WC-Co and WC-CrNi, resulting in a high-hardness wear-resistant coating.

This is an introduction to Kōei Techno System's "Corrosion and Wear Resistant Processing by HVOF Coating (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel Coating)," which focuses on the repair, regeneration, extension of life, and maintenance of parts. We conduct research and development aimed at enhancing the quality of parts, improving wear resistance, heat resistance, and anti-corrosion, similar to preventive medicine, to advance machinery. HVOF is a type of gas thermal spraying method that utilizes a super high-speed jet stream generated by the combustion of high-pressure oxygen. Because the material collides with the substrate at high speed, it forms a coating with very high adhesion and density, resulting in a high-quality film. It is suitable for spraying cermets such as WC-Co, yielding high-hardness wear-resistant coatings. 【Screws】 ● Supply machine screw ⇒ Photo 1 ● Conveying screw ⇒ Photo 2 【Crushing Equipment】 ● Inner wall of the crushing equipment ⇒ Photo 3 ● Wall surface of the crushing equipment ⇒ Photo 4 ● Processed inner wall of the crushing equipment ⇒ Photo 5 【Pump Parts】 ● Pump parts ⇒ Photo 6, Photo 7 ● After processing pump parts ⇒ Photo 8 【Powder Classification Equipment】 ● Inner cylinder of the powder classification equipment ⇒ Photo 9 *For more details, please download the catalog or contact us.

Shaft repair thermal spraying (pellet granulator)

A thermal spray coating of 13Cr type will be applied to repair the shaft of the pellet granulator.

This is an introduction to the restoration thermal spraying of shafts for pelletizing machines by Kōei Techno System Co., Ltd., which conducts research and development aimed at enhancing the quality of parts, improving wear resistance, heat resistance, and corrosion resistance, similar to preventive healthcare, with a focus on the repair, regeneration, extension of life, and maintenance of components. It is a machine that converts waste, powders, and other difficult-to-handle waste into pellets (granulated products). By pelletizing, it simplifies the handling for reuse or disposal, allows for efficient combustion as fuel, and reduces costs for storage, transportation, and shipping. For standard products, we apply thermal spraying using 13Cr series stainless steel. We use materials that have high wear resistance and excellent versatility. Additionally, we can create thermal spray coatings using materials such as SUS316, aluminum, aluminum bronze, and Hastelloy, depending on the application. 【13Cr Series Thermal Spray Coating】 Restoration thermal spraying of shafts (pelletizing machine) ● Before processing ⇒ Photo 1 ● After processing ⇒ Photo 2

Metal thermal spraying and ceramic thermal spraying

Coating other materials on the surface! Enabling diversification and advancement of material functions!

"Metal thermal spraying and ceramic thermal spraying" is a type of surface modification method. By utilizing the inherent properties of the material and coating its surface with other materials, it imparts functions that the material lacks. This is technically achieved by accelerating molten droplets or softened powders at high speed to collide with the material surface, resulting in rapid cooling and solidification to form a coating, enabling diversification and enhancement of material functions. By applying metal and ceramic thermal spraying as a base for fluororesin coatings, adhesion and wear resistance are significantly improved. There are also coatings that do not allow any adhesion of tape or adhesives. [Materials] ■ Metal-based - Al, Zn, Al-Zn alloy: for corrosion protection - Ni-Cr alloy, MCrAlX alloy: for corrosion resistance and high-temperature oxidation resistance - Self-fluxing alloy (Fe-Ni-Cr alloy + Si + B): for wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.

About three times that of hardened steel... wear-resistant thermal spray roll.

About three times that of hardened steel!! Wear-resistant thermal spray roll.

The severe wear and tear of equipment can be mitigated by developing wear-resistant thermal spray materials that enable the long lifespan of equipment, leading to reduced maintenance costs and lower equipment renewal expenses due to the extended life of boiler systems. This approach accommodates a wide variety of materials, including general steel, stainless steel, cast iron, copper, aluminum, and other alloys, and does not depend on the base material's properties. By covering only the worn surfaces of inexpensive structural materials with a very hard coating, cost reductions can be achieved.

Proposal for Thermal Spraying of Almag.

The powerful corrosion prevention effect significantly reduces the hassle and costs of maintenance and replacement!

Thermal spraying is a coating technology that generates a film by spraying molten thermal spray material onto a base metal and layering it. Almag thermal spraying has been recognized for its excellent corrosion prevention effects and is also used in scuba tanks, among other applications. In the photo, the tank on the left is coated with Almag thermal spray, while the right side is coated with conventional anti-corrosion paint. After a total of 20 hours of use from new, a significant difference in corrosion progression is evident, as shown in the photo. The corrosion effects of Almag thermal spraying can lead to substantial reductions in maintenance and replacement efforts and costs. Additionally, thermal spraying has the advantage of having no basic limitations on the dimensions of the target object, and partial thermal spraying is also possible if proper masking is performed.
