When was the use of asbestos products banned?

We will introduce the timeline of events leading up to the ban on asbestos!

Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral, also known as "sekimen" and "ishi-wata." Its fibers are very fine, making it easy to disperse in the air, and inhalation poses a risk of health damage. In 1975, the spraying of asbestos exceeding 5% by weight was generally prohibited. This marked the first step in asbestos regulation. In 1995, the spraying of asbestos exceeding 1% by weight was generally prohibited, and at the same time, the manufacture, import, transfer, provision, and use of highly carcinogenic amosite (brown asbestos) and crocidolite (blue asbestos) were completely banned. *For detailed information, please refer to the related links. When was the use of asbestos products banned? An explanation of the history of regulations in Japan and future measures.

Introducing the dangers of asbestos and precautions regarding asbestos remaining in old buildings and equipment!

Asbestos-containing products in Japan were generally prohibited from manufacturing and use as of September 1, 2006, and disappeared from the market, with some exceptions. Furthermore, including products that had been granted a grace period, a complete ban was implemented on March 1, 2012. However, since regulations have been gradually strengthened, asbestos products that were manufactured and used in the past still remain in many of our familiar buildings and facilities. Here, we will provide a detailed explanation of the history of asbestos regulation and the measures currently required. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. What is the difference between gaskets and packing? A professional explains their roles, uses, and how to choose them.

A clear comparison table showing the differences between gaskets and packing!

Gaskets and packing are both important "sealing materials" that prevent the leakage of liquids and gases from machinery and piping. However, the roles of these two are clearly different depending on the presence or absence of "movement" in the places where they are used. On this page, we will clearly explain the differences and correct applications of each, along with diagrams for better understanding. *For detailed content of the column, you can view it through the related links.
