We would like to introduce a case where we received a request from a customer for the proposal and production of a testing jig. We reviewed the current testing methods and looked at photos taken during work when visiting other business locations, and we discussed the products to be tested. Considering the need to minimize the gap between the product being tested and the jig for better workability, we proposed a butt-joint type jig. Additionally, we suggested creating a plate to serve as a base to allow for height adjustments. We produced one unit for testing, and since it met the customer's expectations, we were able to receive an additional order for two more units. Belt conveyors are essential in the fields of "manufacturing" and "transporting goods." In this blog, we introduce maintenance examples of such logistics equipment. The lifespan of a belt varies depending on factors such as belt width, operating hours, and the weight of the transported items, so it is difficult to determine precisely. However, it seems that the belt in this case has not been replaced for about 10 years. Some belts had been repaired, so I believe the original replacement guideline is around 5 years. The stability of the jig when tightening the screws is significantly improved. It does not lose strength and allows for smooth widening between the rollers. This product is considered unprocessable because it cannot be fixed in a machine under normal circumstances. While it can be seen as troublesome, this is where the technology of Moro Seisakusho shines, and the accumulation of experience is demonstrated. Therefore, the hope for lathe processing sought advice from veteran processing technicians within the company, and together with milling machinists, they decided to create a jig and tackle the challenge.
