■Manufacturing Process of Epoxy Glass Pipes Epoxy glass pipes are manufactured using glass fiber reinforced plastic. The process begins by impregnating a cloth made of glass fibers with epoxy resin. The glass fibers coated with this resin are then dried to transform them into a material known as "resin paper." This resin paper is wrapped around a core (usually a cylindrical rod made of iron). After wrapping, it is placed in a mold and subjected to heat treatment. During this heating process, the epoxy resin cures, forming a pipe integrated with the glass fibers. Once cured, the core is removed, leaving the remaining part as the inner diameter of the pipe. The process can be likened to making taiyaki, where the core serves a role similar to that of chikuwa. The inner diameter of the pipe is determined by the dimensions of the core, but if the core is square, the inner diameter will also be square. By changing the size and shape of the core, it is possible to manufacture epoxy glass pipes of various sizes and shapes. This process results in pipes that combine the durability and lightweight properties of epoxy glass, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.

Machining angled cuts on a cut pipe with a lathe! Introducing our machining examples.

We would like to introduce a case study related to the processing of scientific and physical instruments that we conducted. The pipe was cut and the end face was finished using a lathe. Using a unique jig, the pipe was bent, and scales were engraved with a carving machine on the main pipe, which had the bottom plate glued, and colored in. Each part was then glued together. The pipe was bent without crushing the inner diameter, and glued to prevent any liquid leakage.
