Development of Automated Transport System

Introduction to joint research with Shikoku Vocational Ability Development University.

We are engaged in joint research with Shikoku University of Occupational and Environmental Health on the development of an "automated transport device system." Our goal is to complete a system that controls the movement of a cart robot via a tablet device. Currently, we have achieved movement control through route specification using touch operations, and the basic system for movement control using sensors and cameras has been completed. In the future, we plan to integrate the entire system and enhance its completeness as a product. [Overview] - As an automated transport device system, we are developing a cart robot using mecanum wheels and an operation terminal to be mounted on it (the cart robot uses a commercially available product). - The cart robot is being developed with the goal of autonomous movement by specifying routes based on a map and using sensor position measurement. - The operation terminal is implemented primarily with cart robot control functions. - We aim to enable communication between the cart robot and the operation terminal via Bluetooth for remote operation. *For more details, please refer to the external link page or feel free to contact us.

Mecanum Robot 'TDAMNEW' *Video available

Omnidirectional movement is achieved using wheels instead of a bipedal walking mechanism.

Tosa Electronics has integrated an engine that centrally controls the errors and behavioral discrepancies that occur during omnidirectional movement onto a single circuit board. This allows for stable movement within the robot through feedback without placing a burden on the upper-level control system issuing commands. Mecanum wheels are covered by barrels that are tilted 45 degrees relative to the axle. In addition to the same movements as conventional wheels, the free-moving barrels on the circumference enable movement in the 45-degree direction.
