We would like to introduce a case study on improving production capacity for a agricultural machinery parts manufacturer located in Tochigi Prefecture. As part of our efforts, we replaced the drive unit with a servo motor and secured the desired processing capacity through high-speed positioning control. As a result, we established a high-speed production environment using a uniquely developed condition-setting method. This results in cost reduction through decreased frequency of mold replacements and improved productivity, while also addressing the anticipated "further adaptation to higher strength steel materials" in the future. Surface hardening heat treatment method "N-Quench"

Solving conventional issues! Surface hardening heat treatment that reduces quenching distortion and shortens processing time!

"N-Quench" refers to a nitriding quenching process that allows nitrogen to penetrate and diffuse into steel, performing quenching from the austenite state. By introducing nitrogen and performing quenching, a surface hardness of about 850 HV can be achieved even with inexpensive SPCC materials, and it is possible to increase hardness within the range where nitrogen has diffused internally. The amount of distortion is about half that of carburizing nitriding quenching and is only slightly larger than that of gas soft nitriding. Additionally, the friction coefficient and seizure surface pressure are almost equivalent to those of carburizing nitriding and gas soft nitriding, and the wear amount is favorable, being 1/2 of carburizing nitriding materials and 1/3 of gas soft nitriding materials.
